Terms of Use

Effective 12 October 2026.

Learn Just Enough is a language-learning service operated by Disco Media Pty Ltd (“we”, “us”). These terms cover our mobile app, website, lesson and audio generation, public lessons, accounts, subscriptions, and assistant connector. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, don’t use the service.

If you download the app from the App Store, Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies to the app licence. These terms cover your use of our service alongside that agreement. Our app privacy policy explains how we handle your information.

Your account

  • You must be at least 18 to use Learn Just Enough.
  • Use an email address you control. Keep your email, account access, and any connected assistant secure. You are responsible for activity you authorise on your account; tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorised access.
  • Each account is for one person’s own learning. Don’t share, sell, or transfer your account or subscription to another person.
  • You can listen to public General lessons as a guest. Guest listening doesn’t create an account or save your learning progress.

What the service is for

Learn Just Enough helps you practise languages through audio lessons, conversations, transcripts, and translations. You can describe a situation you want to practise, choose a lesson idea, or connect a compatible AI assistant to manage your personal lessons and categories.

Use the service for language learning. Don’t use lesson requests, transcripts, or audio to run a general file store, backup service, audio-hosting service, or content-generation business.

Your content and generated lessons

  • You keep your rights in lesson requests, notes, text, and audio you supply. You give us permission to store, copy, process, and display that content, and to send it to the providers described in our privacy policy, only as needed to provide and support the service for you. This permission doesn’t transfer ownership of your content to us.
  • Only supply material you have the right to use. Don’t include someone else’s private information or audio of their voice without permission. Avoid entering sensitive personal information in lesson requests.
  • You may use the lessons and audio we provide for your personal learning. Don’t resell or publicly redistribute our lesson library or generated audio, or use our service to build a competing product, without our written permission. This doesn’t prevent you from using your own original material independently of the service.
  • AI-generated translations, dialogue, pronunciation, and cultural explanations can contain mistakes or sound unnatural. Check important wording with a qualified speaker or another reliable source. We don’t promise fluency, a particular learning result, or that a lesson reflects every speaker or situation.

Learn Just Enough doesn’t provide certified education, professional advice, or emergency interpreting. Don’t rely on a lesson alone for medical care, allergies, legal matters, safety instructions, or an emergency. Use qualified help where accuracy is critical.

Connected assistants and third-party providers

Connecting an assistant gives it the access you approve, which can include reading your learning profile and plan and creating, editing, or deleting your own lessons and categories. Review the connection permissions and check what you ask the assistant to do. You can disconnect it in that assistant’s settings.

Your assistant provider handles your conversations under its own terms and privacy policy. We operate the Learn Just Enough connector; we don’t control an assistant’s actions outside it. Lesson generation and audio may also depend on third-party providers. Any applicable provider rules still apply when you use their services.

Acceptable use

You must not use Learn Just Enough to:

  • Break the law, infringe copyright or other rights, or create, store, or distribute illegal material.
  • Generate or distribute sexual content involving minors, sexually explicit material, gratuitous violence, material promoting terrorism or harm, or hate and harassment directed at people. Legitimate language study doesn’t authorise harmful use of the service.
  • Impersonate someone, use their voice without consent, expose their private information, threaten them, or deceive them.
  • Store or distribute unrelated files, archives, music, podcasts, or other data, including by disguising them as lessons or audio practice.
  • Bypass plan limits, access controls, or safeguards. This includes opening extra accounts to repeat a free allowance, manipulating requests or retries, abusing deletion or subscription restoration, or using an account to generate lessons or audio for other people.
  • Scrape the service, extract our lesson library in bulk, overload or disrupt systems, probe accounts you don’t own, upload malicious code, or access non-public data without permission. Use automation only through an assistant connector or other interface we expressly permit, within its limits.
  • Copy, reverse engineer, resell, or otherwise exploit our app or service without permission, except where applicable law or an open-source licence permits it.

Free access and subscriptions

Public General lessons are available for guest listening. Free accounts can generate three lessons in one language. Monthly and annual subscriptions allow more generation, subject to limits of 10 generations per 24 hours and 100 per 30 days. The app shows the offer, price, billing period, and applicable limits before you buy.

A subscription doesn’t provide unlimited generation or an allowance for other people’s use. Restoring a purchase, reinstalling the app, or deleting lessons doesn’t create a new generation allowance.

For App Store purchases, Apple handles payment and subscription renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically unless you cancel through your Apple Account subscription settings before the renewal deadline shown by Apple. You can manage purchases and use the app’s restore-purchases option where available.

Deleting your Learn Just Enough account or uninstalling the app doesn’t cancel an App Store subscription. Cancel it separately in your Apple Account settings. Send App Store refund requests through Apple, and contact us if a service problem needs our attention. Nothing in these terms removes any refund or other remedy required by law.

We may change plans, prices, or allowances for future periods. We will give reasonable advance notice of changes that materially reduce an active subscription’s access, and follow the store’s price-change and renewal rules. You can cancel future renewals if you don’t want to continue.

Suspension and termination

We may remove content, limit generation, suspend access, or close an account when it breaks these terms, threatens other people or the service, or requires action under law. For serious abuse or an urgent security risk, we may act immediately. Otherwise, we will usually explain the issue and give you a chance to correct it. We may report illegal activity to the relevant authorities.

If you think we made a mistake, contact us so we can review it. Suspension or termination doesn’t remove your statutory consumer rights. For an App Store purchase, Apple’s refund process still applies; a breach of these terms doesn’t create an automatic entitlement to a refund.

You can stop using the service and delete your account from the app’s Settings. Our privacy policy explains the information we may need to retain for billing, security, or legal reasons. Cancel any subscription separately before deleting your account.

Availability and changes to the service

We work to keep Learn Just Enough available and protect your data. The service can have interruptions, change over time, or depend on app stores, hosting, authentication, AI, and audio providers. We don’t promise uninterrupted access or permanent storage. Keep your own copy of original material you can’t afford to lose.

If we discontinue the service or close an account for a reason other than a breach, we will give reasonable notice where practicable so you can cancel future renewals and keep any material the service lets you download. We will provide any remedy required by law.

Consumer rights and liability

Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts, or modifies a right, guarantee, or remedy that the law doesn’t allow us to exclude, including rights under the Australian Consumer Law.

Subject to those rights, and only to the extent the law permits, we exclude liability for indirect or consequential loss. Where the law allows a limit on our liability, our total liability arising from the service is limited to the subscription fees you paid for Learn Just Enough in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim. Any permitted limitation to supplying the service again or paying its cost applies only where lawful and fair. These limits don’t apply to liability the law prevents us from limiting.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We will publish the new version here with its effective date and give reasonable notice of significant changes in the app or by email where practicable. Changes apply from the stated date, rather than retrospectively. If you don’t agree to a change, stop using the service and cancel future subscription renewals. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the updated terms, subject to applicable law.

Governing law and contact

The laws of Victoria, Australia govern these terms, and the courts of Victoria have non-exclusive jurisdiction. This doesn’t take away mandatory protections or rights to bring a claim in another jurisdiction that apply where you live.
